Large language models (LLMs) are a type of deep learning algorithm trained on a large corpus of text data. This
training enables the models to process and generate human-like text about almost any topic. Currently, Bard (as
developed by Google) and ChatGPT (as developed by OpenAI) are the primary LLMs available for public use. This
presentation provides background on the LLMs and explains the current state of both Bard and ChatGPT. Although
they are both LLMs, Bard and ChatGPT provide different advantages for engineering use so this presentation will
highlight where the differences can be found.
